かがやき隊員の奥田です！先月のことになりますが，京都府の大学生と

雲ケ畑の地元の方が協同して林業を行うと聞き，現地で密着取材をして参りました(^-^)/

晴れていても作業場は山の上。皆さん防寒対策，山仕事装備も万全でいざ出発です！

I’m Okuda, a member of the Kagayaki team! Last month, I heard that

university students in Kyoto Prefecture and local persons in Kumogahata

will collaborate in forestry, and I have been closely interviewing them on site (^-^)/

Even if it is sunny, the workshop is on the mountain.

Everyone is ready for cold weather and mountain work equipment!

まずはゴールの確認から。今回は炭焼きに使う材木を用意することが目的。

ならば，自分たちが作業した結果がどのようなものになるのかを知った上で臨んだ方が

より良い経験になるだろうという地元の方の心遣いです(^^♪

First, check the goal. This time, the purpose is to prepare the lumber

used for charcoal burning. Then, it is the consideration of the local people that

it will be a better experience to know what the result of their work will be (^^♪

窯の構造や炭焼きの際に気を付けること等，たくさん教えていただきました。

大学生は興味津々。これはどうなっているのか，なぜそのような作業が必要なのか等，

疑問が絶えません。昨今の状況を判断して，後日炭焼きも体験してみようということでした(*^-^*)

He taught us a lot about the structure of the kiln and what to be careful of

when burning charcoal. University students are curious. What is this,

why such work is necessary, etc. They have no end to questions. They said,

judging the situation, they will decide to try charcoal burning at a later date (*^-^*)

作業場へ向かうまでに，一行が足を止めたのはクロモジの木の前。

先輩たちが後輩にクロモジの説明。柔らかな香りに驚きの声も。

知らなければ見落としてしまう山の幸。知ることで豊かな目線でものを見ることができますね。

Seniors explain Lindera umbellata to juniors. The soft scent also surprises them.

Mountain products that you would overlook if you didn’t know. By knowing it, we can see
