かがやき隊員の奥田です！炭焼きの作業もいよいよ大詰め。火を焚くための竈（かまど）を

窯（かま）の中につくりあげるのが今回の作業です(^-^)/

窯の中に入った木に，直接火が当たらないように，焚き口に壁をつくるイメージです。

I’m Okuda, a member of the Kagayaki team! The charcoal-burning work is finally over.

This work is to create a furnace in the kiln to burn the fire (^-^) /

It is an image of creating a wall at the firing port so that the wood inside the kiln is not directly exposed to fire.

ブロック塀を積み重ねて，壁をつくるとのことです。

何かの拍子で倒れないように，ブロック塀の空いている穴には鉄の棒を通して固定(*^-^)

やはりと言いますか，竈の作り方も炭焼き職人，炭焼き窯によってそれぞれのようです。

It is said that blocks will be piled up to make a wall.

An iron rod is passed through the hole in the block wall so that it will not fall over somehow or other (* ^-^)

After all, how to make a furnace seems to be different depending on the charcoal-burning craftsman and the charcoal-burning kiln.

完成したブロック塀の壁がこちら。この手前で火を焚き，ブロック塀の上から

窯の中の木に火が当たっていくようなつくりになっています。

Here is the wall of the completed block wall. The fire is lit in front of this,

and the wood in the kiln is lit from the top of the block wall.

続いて窯の扉を取り付ける作業です。レンガを組み立てて，ちょうど良い場所に扉を設置。

このときも活躍するのが山の土。水分を含むと粘り気が出て，まるで粘土のようです。

できてしまったすき間に，この土を塗り固めていきます(^^♪

Next is the work of installing the kiln door. Assemble the bricks and install the door in the right place.

Mountain soil is also active at this time. When it contains water, it becomes sticky and looks like clay.

We will apply this soil to the gap that has been created (^^ ♪

完成いたしました！上の大きく空いた部分が焚口，燃料となる木を入れるところで，

少し見えにくいですが，下の方に小さく空いているのが空気口。レンガを挟み込んだりすることで，

窯の中へ入る空気の量を調節するためのものです。

It’s completed! The large vacant part at the top is the firing port, and the place

where the wood used as fuel is put, it is a little difficult to see, but the small vacant part at the bottom is the air vent.

By sandwiching bricks, it is for adjusting the amount of air entering the kiln.

次回，ついに窯の中に火が点くところをお送りします(*^-^*)

今回の作業まで約６時間ほどが経過，一同の顔に少し疲れが見え隠れしますが，

火を入れる瞬間が見れるということでテンションが上昇。わくわくしながら点火作業を見守ります。
