かがやき隊員の奥田です！炭焼き窯（かま）の竈（かまど）や扉の設置が完了，

とうとう点火作業が残るのみとなりました。炭焼き窯にちょうど西日が差し込んできた頃，

燃料となる木を重ねて，火を入れていきます(*^-^*)

I’m Okuda, a member of the Kagayaki team! Installation of the furnace and doors of the charcoal kiln has been completed.

At last, only the ignition work remains. Just when the sun was shining into the charcoal kiln,

Stack the wood that will be the fuel and turn on the fire (* ^-^ *)

火のついた端材が窯の中へ・・・ドキドキの瞬間です。

一同が息をのんで，少しの静寂が訪れたあと，

The lit scraps go into the kiln … It’s a moment of excitement.

After everyone took a breath and a little silence came,

窯の中が明るく・・・！どうやら火がしっかりと点いたようです。

一同笑顔で拍手(o^^o)　何だか報われたような，心地よい達成感が胸にこみ上げてきました。

The inside of the kiln is bright …! Apparently the fire was lit firmly.

Everyone smiled and applauded (o ^^ o) A pleasant sense of accomplishment

that seemed to be rewarded for some reason came to our heart.

空気口から中を覗いて見ました。いい感じに火が大きくなってきています(*^-^)

大きく燃え上がった火が，ブロック塀の壁の向こう側にある木に到達して，

炭になっていく・・・その工程の最初に立ち会えて感激です！

I looked inside from the air vent. The fire is getting bigger and nicer (* ^-^)

The big burning fire reaches the wood on the other side of the wall of the block wall

and becomes charcoal … I am thrilled to be present at the beginning of the process!

煙突からも少しずつ，煙が出てきていることに気付きました。これで協同作業は終了，

ここからは炭焼き職人さんが窯の温度を調節して，焼き上がったあとに窯を閉じる作業が続きます。

炭焼き職人の方から，手伝って下さった地域の方や学生の方へ感謝の言葉。皆様，お疲れ様でした(>_<)！

I noticed that smoke was gradually coming out of the chimney. This completes the collaborative work,

From here, the charcoal-burning craftsman adjusts the temperature of the kiln, and after baking,

the work of closing the kiln continues.
