かがやき隊員の奥田です！先日のこと，地域の方に「アオイって知ってる？」と質問が。

京都のお祭りである『葵祭（あおいまつり）』の『葵（あおい）』のことのようですが，

恥ずかしながらイメージが湧いてきません(>_<)　それなら！ということで見せて頂きました。

I’m Okuda, a member of the Kagayaki team! The other day, a question was asked from the local people, “Do you know Aoi?”

It seems to be “Aoi” of “Aoi Matsuri” which is a festival in Kyoto.

I’m ashamed to say that the image doesn’t spring up (> _ <) Then! She showed me that.

「庭に自生しているんよ」と案内してもらい，拝見してビックリ！

きめ細やかな模様を持つ双葉が，庭一面に広がっていましたΣ(゜゜)

ハートの形をした可愛らしい葉の形をしていますね。

I was surprised to see it when I was informed that it grows naturally in the garden!

Twin leaves with a fine pattern spread all over the garden Σ (゜ ゜)

It has the shape of a lovely leaf in the shape of a heart.

何だか気品を感じるのは，伝統的なお祭りに使われていると知ったからでしょうか。

『葵』はこのように大きな集まりをつくるそうで，

大きい双葉もあれば，小ぶりの双葉もあるようです(o^^o)

Is it because you know that it is used for traditional festivals?

“Aoi” seems to make such a big gathering,

There seems to be large twin leaves and small twin leaves (o ^^ o)

更に驚きだったのは，この『葵』の花。どこに花が咲いているのかと思いきや，

双葉に隠れて下向きに小さな花が咲いていました(¨!!

花びらはつかず，ツボのような形をした花とのことです。

What was even more surprising was the flower of this “Aoi”. I wondered where the flowers are blooming,

Hiding in twin leaves, small flowers were blooming downward (¨ !!

It is a flower shaped like an acupoint without petals.

こちらの『葵』は，５月に上賀茂神社，下鴨神社で行われる葵祭に使われるとのことで，

もう少しすると神社の方が取りに来られるんだとか！！

This “Aoi” is used for the Aoi Festival held at Kamigamo Shrine and Shimogammo Shrine in May.

The people from shrine will come to pick it up on the near day!!
